Big congratulations! Double Time still positively influences our lives as we use “twin of the day.” I would also love to read your book on your childhood cancer experiences. I need to write mine on having a child diagnosed with epilepsy. A hug and pat on the back for your brave and literate honesty.
Thank you so much! I'm sorry about your child's epilepsy -- you absolutely should write about it. I'm sure it would be helpful to so many people AND help you feel less alone. My book involving childhood cancer was a fictional story, but obviously I drew heavily on our own experience w. Clio's cancer. Maybe it will get out there someday. (And I'm glad the twin of the day technique has worked out for you!)
I am also wanting to read the story you wrote about childhood cancer, as my son is a survivor of the same effing cancer your daughter had. He is 2 years, 3 months off treatment, but I read, and saved EVERY blog post you wrote during Cleo’s “time.” Is there a way this could be available or is available? Because, as you know, pediatric cancer is TOUGH, and feels soooo lonely…Even though we are through it, I would still love to read that novel
I am so glad your son is doing well!! And I'm so glad my stuff during Clio's time helped -- god knows it helped me to write it, and feel less alone. Alas, the only way that other novel is available as of now is a big ole Word document. I'm happy to send it to you if you want, though it might be rather unwieldy to read! Maybe it will find its way into print someday....who knows.
It’s such a shame that people shy away from the “reals” of life, especially pediatric cancers. Nobody wants to talk about it, and, I guess, publish it. How unfortunate and extremely sad, because more and more kids and families are going through it…
I am all for breast cancer funding and going pink for October, but what about pediatric cancer funding and going gold for September…
It is rarely mentioned. Such a hard topic, I get it. NOBODY wants to be in the pediatric cancer club. Your book should have been published, for all of us Cancer Families! Funny that they didn’t, because they would have made a fortune, seeing how many kiddos are diagnosed EVERY day, with families searching/needing for support…
Please send this to those publishers that told you no.
