Great interview about an incredible smart, kickass woman by another incredible smart kickass woman. I loved this line at the beginning: "Williams—when we were there anyway—was heavier on the sporty, boarding school types and lighter on the artsy, silly types. So I count myself very lucky to have found some of “my people” at Williams in Liv and our mutual pals." I consider myself blessed everyday for that. And, ahem, where are my photo credits for the two that I took? ;-)
What a crazy small world. I was reading (and as always enjoying) this post and then I noticed you mentioning Darby English and thought "huh, I wouldn't think it's that common of a name..." and then you write that he's a well regarded art historian at the University of Chicago and then I see the photo! I almost fell off my chair. Darby was my master's program thesis advisor way back in 2008! He was and I am sure, still is, amazing. Thanks for the great posts, I am already looking forward to the next one.
This was my favorite interview with a politician ever. I feel quite certain had I gone to Williams instead of Pomona, I would have sat at your table (but I would have put WHOLE MILK into my lucky charms, because - college).
Love women supporting women, but her campaign and fundraising are a testament to women forwarding the patriARCH and misogyny. She is the woman that takes from the most vulnerable with no remorse daily and calls it equality when she IS THE ANOMALY TO ALL SEX WORK. It enrages my everything; I want to be treated as an equal not a gift to lonely (for a reason) men. Her campaign finance alone is a "teste"ment to her being! I'll continue to speak back and likely canceled for not being a fan of reverse misogyny and abuse! In a binary political system she is simply taking the vote away from those that understand how to change the system from working it, not simply being a great performer like too many political candidates today!
she nailed one detail, educated trauma survivors that study anthropology do have high numbers in her industry, which she should stick to like her pole!
OMG. I saw this TedX talk about six months ago. Had no idea of the __ degrees of separation.
Brilliant interview. I'd move to Portland just so I could vote for her.

I shall add it forthwith!! (Which two are yours? The pic of me, Liv & Amy and the one of me pole dancing?)
Yes, those are the two! Thanks. My moment of fame behind the scenes. :-)

Oh my gosh! That's so funny! Small world indeed. Darby was a great guy, with a wonderfully dry sense of humor. Thanks again for reading!
So cool, loved the interview and her TED talk.

Thank you!! And hell yeah, you'd have been welcome at our table. We could have made fun of Liv and her hot water Lucky Charms together. :-D
Delightful interview and go Liv!
Hilarious, as usual—and go Liv!
