This made me laugh out loud! Well captured, Jane!

I also have observed (personally, and with friends sharing their experiences) a higher than average winter hibernation effect this year -- including more sloth-like activity level, binge watching under blankets, and intense late-night cravings for comfort food carbs.

Regrettably climate change is marching forward with Trump aiding by pulling out of all EPA restrictions. The Gulf Stream is slowing. This warmer air mass kept the Midwest, eastern USA, and western Europe warmer than it might readily be for millenia. Without its gentle caress, the polar vortex drops south making more southerly latitudes colder while the arctic warms. As vast sheets of ice melt, sea levels will rise. Bye, bye Florida! Canadians understand cold and know how to deal with it. Bostonians and other Eastern seabord states and cities better prepare because this trend will be the norm.

It's regrettable indeed. While this winter has been colder than the last few years have been, New Englanders are, fortunately, very well-equipped to deal with cold, snowy winters.

Well, if this isn’t exactly right! I’m so sick of it 😣

Thanks for letting me off the hook for not bringing in the solar garden lights. I appreciate you.

New Hampshire has entered the chat. I love my house - really love it. It’s a 200+ year old former one room schoolhouse, heated by a wood stove and a tiny propane heater. You want charm and character? I have it in spades. You want heat? Uh uh. I do not recall the last time my entire body was warm at the same time in that house. I can’t stay in the shower long enough for my toes to thaw. The dishwasher and washing machine have been frozen for weeks and every day is a struggle to keep the intake pipe from the well clear. And it’s not even March yet, when everything is either relentlessly brown or we are buried to our eyebrows in wet, heavy snow (and my basement floods because the sump pump drain is frozen). But I love it, I do. In summer.
